Wednesdays 3pm-4.20pm for boys & girls 8yrs-12yrs.
In our spacious light filled studio in the heart of Dunlaoghaire.
Sign up per term. €18 per class ( number of classes varies per term average 10 weeks per term). Limited places. Small numbers to ensure productivity, attention and enjoyment for all!
Our after school ‘Sewing & Fabric Crafts’ club, aims to teach children 8yrs-12yrs the lifelong skill of sewing. In a relaxed, creative and fun environment.
Over the three terms we will work on fun projects making items like hair accessories, zipper pouches, bags, plush toys. We will experiment with upcycling existing clothes and aim to make an item for our final project for the summer holidays, choosing from shorts, a skirt or top.
The children will learn to:
Hand Sew
Use a sewing machine (subject to individual ability)
Work with simple paper pattern’s
Handle, measure and cut fabrics
Get Creative with fabrics, beyond conventional sewing
Embroidery
Crochet
Jewellery Making
While we will have set projects and guidelines for the children to follow, they will also be encouraged to follow their own initiatives and get creative with their own ideas.

With many years of experience as a fashion designer (bespoke wedding and evening wear) and working in the fashion industry in Hong Kong, Australia & London. Then running my own retail business, the arrival of my own children led to a natural career break. Rearing three little ‘Angels’ ( job not done yet!) has given me a fresh perspective on many things and I am thrilled to now find myself working from my own spacious & bright studio in the heart of Dun Laoghaire.
It’s a joy to continue to work at what I love and even more, I feel it a privilege to be able to pass on the life long skill of Sewing, in a creative setting, to children (& adults!) See site for other courses. Nikki x🧵
